Finally pool time?

Well, here I am two weeks late posting. I can’t believe how I let time get by me. It has been hectic. Just when you think it’s summer and time to get the pool ready, sort clothes, and get out the summer toys, it rains and gets really windy.

Finally, we have a hot day, and the pool is ready. The kids have their bathing suits on, and I slather the kids in sunscreen. We head to the pool. I inch my way in because I am not a jump-in type of girl. Finally, I am in, and I put my hands out to Janie, and she comes to me and feels the water. She is excited until I start to move her around in the water. Screams. Oh, she screams at the top of her lungs screams. She acts like she is swimming in acid. I took her to the edge and let her climb out. She was done. Do you think I got Jimmy in? Nope. He cried.

They sat with their feet in the pool and said,” swim, mom.”  So, I started to swim laps. Got out after about half an hour. Sat and got dried off, not realizing that I didn’t put any sunscreen on and I was burning.

Kids are still kicking their feet in the water, so I get back in the pool and do more laps. I was using their floaties so It would be easier to swim. Finally, I had had enough and got out. I told the kids we were going in, and they screamed. It took a bribe, but I finally got them to leave the pool area and locked the gate.

I need to find a better way to get them in the pool. I wanted to sign them up for swim lessons, but they were full.

I figured we would be swimming the next day, and I would get some toys for the pool. The weather had other plans: wind, clouds, and some thunderstorms. We need to clean the pool again.

Here we sit inside watching Sonic 2
